Hey Steve,

How about making twisted pair out of Teflon-insulated wire.  You'd have 
to choose the right wire gage and insulation thickness, and measure it 
to make sure.  However, I'm afraid the "transmitting" zip cord is 
extinct, and lamp cord is probably lossy due to the PVC and, also, not 
consistent in impedance from one batch to the next.
