Hello list members! I have to thank all of you who suggested I try to
polish out the meter cover. I purchased a set of novus (1 2 and 3) on
Amazon for $15. The results? GREAT!!! With the help of the folks on
this list, I saved a $300 investment in this hickok 600A from the
literal scrap heap.
I am super pleased with the results. I can now get on with recapping and
calibrating. And then I will sell it because I also bought an 800K. And,
I will eventually sell the 800K when I find an affordable 752A which is
my ULTIMATE desire (in tube testers, that is)!
thanks to EVERYONE What a great list.

PS If you try this yourself, be prepared for LOTS of elbow grease!

Yep!
+1 on Novus. I use it to polish plastic pick guards
on guitars and it works great. I doubt you could make
the cover any worse!
I bought a Novus 1, 2, 3 set on Amazon.
