you have fallen into a den of thieves.

There is a guy up in your neighborhood that may be able help 
with the gear.  He will probably chime in here, Todd/KA1KAQ. 
He is a treasure trove of knowledge and help.  Not only that 
he is a nice guy to boot.  Look for him.
