Chuck,
The Featherwieghts are probably my favorite headset. The inscription
TRIMM
FEATHERWEIGHT
TRIMM, INC.
LIBERTYVILLE, ILL., USA
is molded into the Bakelite on the back.
I also have a pair that say just "RADIOMARINE." So apparently they were
branding them for other companies. Looks like possibly an insert in the
mold, so it's entirely possible there are ones that say nothing.
I see Featherweights in the 1938 Allied catalog for $5.00 and in the
1949 "Radio's Master" for $10. The Master also lists Trimm Commercial
for $16. These are similar headsets with better quality cords and
headbands.
These are among the upscale Trimms, the Acme's, Dependable's, Rex's, and
Professional's are cheapos.
