[Boatanchors] Re: WHERE HAVE ALL THE HELPERS GONE? (killed by crossposting and fragmentation)

Part of the problem is with the fragmentation of the radio lists (Someday
there will be a Yahoo list for every single manufacturer of gear from the
20s onward). Just because it's easy and possible to create a mailing list,
doesn't mean it should happen.

Having been a member of the original Boatanchors list since day one, I've
seen the effect that the list fragmentation has had. Two major ones are a
lack of response to topical questions (there's too many lists to keep up
with ) and endless cross posting. This list is a good exampe. It's at least
the third list titled "Boatanchors" (the other being the Tempe BA
list)since the original one Jim Lockwood started way back when, and which
is still in operation. Did we really need three lists for the same topic?

Specialization as they say, is for insects.
