[Boatanchors] Kester Solder

My favorite is .050 in 60/40. I wouldn't go smaller than .040 for most
anything except fine pitch PC boards. I don't like 63/37 because it seems
like it doesn't have the same "wetting" and flow properties of 60/40.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Kester Solder

I am ready to place an order for three pound rolls of Kester 44 solder from
Mouser Electronics.

What diameter should I order to use with tube type sets. I know that the
small diameter is for printer circuit boards or a small tip soldering iron.

I believe that there are at least three or four different diameters listed
in the catalog.

Also should I pay the extra to get the 63/37 versus the 60/40. I know that
this was discussed some time ago.

Can anyone assist me on this one. I just want a diameter that would be
general purpose. I notice that the cost is less for the larger diameter.

What is the best choice.

Thank you
