[Boatanchors] Value of NCL 2000 with serious problems

I have a chance to purchase an NCL 2000 amplifier,
from an estate, that is not in working condition. I
have been looking for a ceramic tube amplifier to run
in my motor coach and thought an NCL 2000 would be a
good candidate.

The amplifier has been stored in a basement that is
not climate controlled. Upon looking into the top of
the amp. there is a burned board to the right of the
two 8122 tubes that has obviously had components get
VERY HOT and leave the brown board with a burned spot.
Not being intimately familiar with the NCL 2000, I am
unable to estimate the extent of the damage to the
amplifier. I am not sure if the two 8122 tubes are
good, but I doubt that they are. I fear that the
burned board is the screen and bias board. If that is
the case, the tubes probably were burned up as well.

If you are familiar with the NCL 2000, and know what
that board might be, I will appreciate your ideas
about the probable damage and if you know, give me an
idea as to the value of the amplifier in said
condition.

I want to be fair with the fellow who has it, but I
don't want to invest in a basket case that really has
no value as an amp that can be restored. Your input as
to the sale price of such an NCL 2000 will be greatly
appreciated. I have been told that the screen and bias
circuits of the NCL 2000 are very difficult to
rebuild. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance for
your help. 73, John, K5PGW
