[Boatanchors] Yet another tube question

Like P.T. Barnam once said: "There's a sucker born every minute" (I think
that's how the quote goes)
Reminds me of a local ham many years ago. He was a simple minded fellow.
He used to use a "Halo" antenna on a small mast for his 6 meter AM
operations. Someone told him of something called "halo grease" that made
the RF signal escape the antenna better. This chap bought some from one of
the perpetrators of the joke and paid someone else to apply it to the
antenna. He swore it helped his signal! It was all done in this instance
as a practical joke. No one ever told him it was a joke and he believed it
DID work!

(No! I wasn't involved!)
