Collins comes to mind here with the 75A-2. Seems they changed the tube
line up slightly during production. The fun begins when someone
decides to make the changes to bring their set up to 'current specs'
but doesn't bother to make note of it anywhere. If you're not familiar
with the changes and decide to replace the tubes with the "correct"
ones, well...let's just say that performance can suffer.  (o:

Then there are those tubes with nothing left to read on the envelope,
and no indication anywhere on the set just what it is.
