Certainly the fastest way and handy if you have a good idea of what
you're looking for and at. One thing I'd caution anyone about is
personal sites that provide info without citing sources. There's a lot
of misinformation floating around, so look for specific ads and dates
to be safe, or you'll be relying on the new age experts' opinions. Joe
Blo heard from his friend that the Hallicrafters BC-610 was used in
fighter planes in WWII, therefore to him it's fact and he frames it as
such on his page. He's a newb to radio, but knows HTML.
Much more time consuming but educational and enjoyable, is to search
old QST, CQ, Handbook catalogs and other sources for ads. Read ad,
check year of publication, etc. It's a way's down the Instant
Gratification scale, but enjoyable IMO.
