GA Gene and the list,

Back in the mid-60's we used an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the
microwave cavities used in Ma Bell's TD-2 radio systems. The mixture
was distilled water (no residue from tap water chemicals) and liquid
soap. As in dishwashing detergent. A good rinsing with distilled
water and drying under a heat lamp rounded out the procedure.

Ultrasonic cleaner is fb way to go to clean up parts.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Boatanchors] uLTRASONIC CLEANER SOLUTION

I have a ultrasonic cleaner that I would like to use to clean parts
when
restoring a piece of equipment, mostly small metal pieces, variable
caps,
etc.

Is there a 'universal' type of chemical (other than alcohol or water)
to
clean the parts?

Or, what chemical should I use and where can I get it?

TIA
