Hi Mark,
The puff on Jamesburg claimed 'just in time to carry the Moon
landing live to the world'. It may have been rebroadcasting in real
time what was live elsewhere. It probably got the feed by landline.
If you recall the actual landing and the moonwalk, it was about an hour
in total. And during the walk, the camera got turned to the sun and got
ruined - which then cut out the need for so much bandwidth. The actual
moonwalk was captured at initialisation from Honeysuckle Creek,
Canberra, Australia and then passed to Parkes, NSW, Australia for the
majority of the lunar excursion. So, rotation of the Earth is a total red
herring. How do I know this? I was in Australia watching this during
my lunch break, as it was rebroadcast around Australia from Parkes.
Shame on you. I still say the Jamesburg puff is BS!
