>Both potential transformers, (PTs) AND current transformers, (CTs) are
used for providing metering, operational displays, AND safety relay
systems on Power Systems.

Since we are looking at a 15:1 CT for metering, AND there MUST be a
potential for current to flow - THEN -there MUST be a 15:1 Voltage
present in this proposed system.

if the Voltage involved is 120VAC - THEN the potential available at ONE
end of the CT system is FIFTEEN times the voltage used at the meter end.

**** You really haven't got a clue,have you?
The transformer in question is a CURRENT transformer and as such is NOT
connected to any Voltage source especially NOT 120VAC.Repeat,it is a CURRENT
transformer.

>That is PRECISELY - why - I am promoting the use of a shunt!

No voltage increases are POSSIBLE!

***** The only Voltage increase possible with a current transformer is if
the secondary is left without a burden, that's why Ammeter selector switches
for three phase switchboards use switches that short out the two unused CTs.
Please go and get some correct information about CT operation and Power
metering in general,it will stand you in good stead!
