I remember an episode of Mission Imposable were the Bad Guys were doing
two way communications with a Monarch receiver via a mic plugged into
the head phone jack. 

At the time my Dad W1TAV (the first) had just given me the same
receiver for Christmas.  Other then the one on the show, I have never
seen another Monarch. It sort of looks like an S-120 but with an
S-meter. It was made in Japan. BTW I still have it.
