Inside the signal generator is what I was talking
about and the original design typically uses double
shielded coaxial cable between the osciallator and the
attenuator.  Once you get outside of the signal
generator cabinet the radiation from the coaxial cable
can usually be ignored since it is going to be
considerably less than the direct connection.
