Just make sure it's Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It will take a higher
temp before it starts to smoke. You can also add some Garlic to
the oil to provide delightful fragrance.

Kind of a boatanchor related question.
I just received a Heathkit Cantenna and am wondering what the 
suggestions are for filling it ... other than transformer or
mineral oil.... both of which can be rather expensive in gallon quantities.

I had wondered about olive oil as a possibility.  It is not flammable 
and might be like mineral oil in properties...
