Sounds like a good one. One thing I have noticed about the
new LED flashlights is that most of them have a very well
focused beam.

Can't let this thread go cold without mentioning my secret
weapon against the dark side. Several years ago my
brother-in-law gave me a Garrity Electric Torch as a
Christmas present. I spent the better part of the holidays
using it to light up the dark corners of the shack.

The Garrity is battery powered by a fairly large 6vdc gel
cell. It puts out a beam of light every bit as bright as
the headlight of an automobile. Its bulb and reflector are
also automotive in size and intensity. It is perfect for
getting into tight places, like inside old computers,
boatanchors, and other equipment without having to lug the
stuff up to the bench where the light is better.

The battery only lasts about half an hour if the switch is
forced into the 'on' position and left there. (Normally the
'on' switch is momentary.)

The battery is rechargeable. Takes about four hours to get
back up to full charge.

I can live without it but there are some jobs I could not do
as easily by using it.
