The xtals of the Nations are simply a sliver of quartz that is between two
metal plates that have some cambric material around it.
If the xtal is still good, then take a very clean and light cloth and dip it
in denatured alcohol and throughly wipe the xtal and the plates.
Let it all dry and then put it back together again, it should work.

That is the National way!
