Here we go again gents, this time it is an NC-183D. The issue is when the RF gain control is advanced past the 80-90% range the audio goes into distortion.
RF amp supplies voltage to AVC so one would logically look at the AVC circuit. I started recaping and resistoring the AVC circuit and since I had a free afternoon spent 13 hours replacing EVERY cap and resistor in the entire receiver and still the problem exisits plus the voltages look good.
Any thoughts from the group?
Please don't tell me it is something simple like replacing the 6AH6 AVC tube..Pleeese don't say that....
