Join us on Sunday November 26th for the HHI 20 meter Net.
If you are like most of us, you got into the Thanksgiving spirit somewhere
between the end of the various fowl on float TV parades and the high speed
run to 7 'Come On' 11 for another spray can of Dream Drip, took the shortcut
home through the quad wheeler path of the city park and ripped the head -
tail - legs right off the Camels being led by the Three Unwise Men! "What
idiot decided to put the quiet and peaceful Manger scene with the path
running right between Humpty and Dumpty, the two Camels on loan from the
municipal Zoo, and the gigantic ice sculpture of the Penquin And The Blue
Spruce?" Safely home, all animals and selected adults properly muzzled, then
pigged out on turkey and everything else you could get a soup spoon in
before the bowl vanished to the right! Once again
you had forgotten to observe the key rule for Thanksgiving dinner, 'Thou
shalt not gobble!" That telltale rumble in the left ascending portion of
your Colon as you felt your belly button swell like a hot air balloon with a
stuck vent valve! No escape! The path to the bathroom was blocked by a paper
target Turkey shoot in progress with children firing paintball weapons as
pieces of those Gobblers flew! Mother's shouted in vain then collapsed into
the dressing and dumplings and Pinto beans with green bananas and hot sauce
dip, as they took a paintball between the bifocals!
The guests had gone. The dishes were done. The food put away. Children
asleep. And just as your rump reached the recliner your XYL staggered toward
the couch with newspaper in hand. "Don't forget to set the alarms, as we are
up at four! The sales begin at five, so we must rush to the store!
Thanksgiving is done, but it's Christmas I really adore! I'll shop till you
drop, remember to bring the credit cards, one, maybe two. Damn the bankers,
full debit cards ahead! It's Christmas, so bring all four!"
I will be doing the pre-Net at 12:45 PM EST, 1745 UTC, and the Net proper at
1:15 PM EST, 1815 UTC. So tune in the frequency of 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for
key clicks, mike splatter and some exciting vintage vacuum tube
Hallicrafters fun, fibs, facts and a few festive fantasy want lists!
Here is hoping to hear you over the QRM -
