Hi Bob, et al,
I think the original query was for an "in circuit cap tester", which
this certainly is. But folks should realize that it is not useful for low
value capacitors, e.g. 0.01 bypass caps, etc. It's basically for
electrolytics, and does a great job on them, as well as for measuring low
resistance such as switches, short circuit locations,etc. I've been using
one for several years and find it very useful in the shop. Mine is the
Austrailian unit which was available in the US but may not still be, at
least not as a kit.
I thought that the fact that it's for electrolytics only should be
mentioned. I'd recommend that anyone with interest should download the
owner's manual & read up on the applications there, it give some tips.
