Subject: Ready made bug wgts
Most of us need to tame our bugs as they were all spec'ed for
25WPM and up.
There are cheap simple non-invasive wgts for both square and round
dit arms.
Square dit arms like Champions and old Lionels
Tire shops use a string of small square 1/4 ounce lead wgts mounted
on double sided sticky tape for balancing after market mag wheels.
Their cross section is the same as the side of the stock Champion
slider. They are free. Shine up, spray with Krylon Clear,
attach to left side with dot of 3M #8B WxStrip Adhesive
available any auto paint store, or whatever.
Round dit arms like Standards and Presentations
Home Depot et al sell pkgs of small machined metal donuts with
recessed set screws in every drill size. These are used to slip over
drill bits to limit drilling depth. Get the one that fits your round
dot arm. Lock it in front where it gives the desired speed range
and use the stock slider to set speed.
Many of us find setting dit time duration with scope to around
50ms sounds best and holds nicely from too slow to too fast.
