[Boatanchors] Tube prices

I wonder what the shelf life of these rare NOS tubes are?  Don't they
eventually lose their
seal?  We were discussing this locally the other day and the general
consensus was that buying
old tubes poses something of a risk, unless the seller offers a guarantee.
