[Boatanchors] Texas Instruments and the First Transistor Radio

Ken and Everyone-

Boatanchors is probably as good a place as any to post
this. Ken probably knows this but it is a matter of
radio historical fact. Regency came out with the first
transistor radio in December, 1954. It sold for $49.95
(that's 1950's dollars). Their sub-contractor who
provided the semiconductors, completed printed circuit
board assembly and I believe completed production
units was Texas Instruments.

Hope this is of interest to the Boatanchor
subscribers.
