What was the clue, Albert? Was it the UPPER CASE LETTERS or the
excessive exclamation points!!! proclaiming it to be true?

Considering the number of stamped out Japanese CBs and other
mass-produced, "low-end"(in those Real Collector terms) items stacked
in those piles, it's no wonder he can claim such a large collection.
Certainly reaffirms in my mind that I'm more a user than collector,
and enjoy the historical aspects at least as much as acquisition,
restoration, and use. *whew*
I especially like his 'HOLY GRAIL' remark about the Polycomm 2 which,
while not as plentiful as the Icom and Kenwood HTs in the pile,
certainly wouldn't qualify as 'holy grail' to most folks. And his
mortgage must be awfully cheap if he could pay it off by selling a
Halli SX-101A and Johnson Pacemaker.
It's certainly amusing and, if nothing else, a perfect illustration of
the embellishment used in so many ebay ads with respect to condition,
history, or scarcity. To him it's the truth, regardless of whether
it's factual or represents reality. Reminds me of the "collectors"
with nine 75A-4s, seventeen S-Lines, and so on. It's all about the
numbers, a.k.a. bragging rights.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to rush home and drag the S-36A out
from under the bench. I didn't realize it was "very rare". (o:
