Make sure and keep the carrier power down to a maximum
of 25% of rated power output of the unit.  Remember
that peak power on AM is 4 times the carrier power
when modulated 100%.  The ALC in the unit will keep
the peak power from going above the rated power output
and will severely "clip" the modulation unless you
keep the carrier at 25% or lower.
