I have a version of the HRO 5, I think. I have a
picture of a HRO-5TA1 on the CQ calendar for
1998/1999. My HRO appears slightly different in the
following ways:

1. My rcvr has a round meter with black and white
lettering with a round case meaning that the entire
round face is visible. The red National logo is faded,
on the meter face, but still visible. The meter on the
calendar (pin up) HRO-5TA1 is round except the bottom
of the meter case is covered, thus covering the bottom
of the meter face.

2. The knobs are the same except the toggle switches
have "on" and "off" engraved in the rack panel and
"selectivity" engraved above the selectivity knob in
upper right hand corner. The other controls have the
engravings on rhe skirts of the knobs.

3. The "calendar" HRO-TA1 has a pilor light to the
left of the selectivity knob. My HRO does not have a
pilot light.

4. The "calendar" HRO-5TA1 has a black vernier knob
and skirt. My HRO has a black knob with a "pewter" or
aluminum colored skirt on the vernier.

I have the rack mount power supply, the receiver and
the rack mount box that contains the plug-ins for band
changing. My rcvr was owned by two FCC inspectors or
employees. I believe that W3BW owned it in Washington,
D.C. area.

It looks like an HRO as opposed to an RAS which I also
own.

I do not have the matching speaker for the HRO either
rack mount or in a cabinet.

Your input will be appreciated. 73, John, K5PGW
