We welcome 'all' flavors and brands!
Please join us on Sunday March 5th for the HCI 20 meter Net. Contest or no
contest, we will be there flinging electrons at the ionosphere from more
angles than a mathematics professor can plot with his compass and
protractor. I will hurl them at the D layer with unrelenting fervor until it
becomes tired and confused and lets the signal bounce back toward one of
you. So be there, catch a wave and let's go with the glow!
The pre-Net will commence at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC). However, I will be
there long before that keeping our vintage radio frequency clear of KHZ
squatters. If any of you are awake and ambulatory, come on down and join me
in defending our turf!
The Net proper will begin at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC). The frequency will be
14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and Frogzilla croaking his
way through "This Land Ain't Your Land, It's My Land, So Pack, Hit The Road
Jack And Don't Come BACK!". I am sure it will make Trini Lopez, one of
several who sang it and sold a million copies, proud! Nevertheless, with
Frogzilla belching it out the bandwidth will be wide and anyone who can sit
through his entire rendition is either tone deaf, got both elbows jammed
into their ears or more dense than Lead and more persistent than a foot
fungus between the toes! If 1.5 KW of that on the Hustler 4BTV can't keep
the frequency clear, nothing can!
I can use some help guys, so show up early if you can get the XYL to grant
you permission for an extra early play period. Warm up the amplifiers and be
prepared to hurl. Not your breakfast, some RF! I will hear some of you then,
and the designated relay stations: KG4KZG, Dale in southern Florida, K0EJF,
Jerry in Colorado and K7DDG, Roger in Oregon will pick you up. Then if some
of the other super power stations, such as W5WP, David in Texas, W4WTO, Bob
in Georgia, K0TNP, Don in way the heck southwest Texas, W5UW, Red in
Oklahoma and KD7MXX in southern Nevada help out, all of your screaming your
call sign a thousand times will not be in vain!
So light them up gentlemen, put some fire to the wire and let's let those
wonders that still go glow in the dark make some waves on the waters of
propagation and show these solid state rigs how to really Ride The Wild
Surf!
