I do not use plain Formula 409 on much, if anything,
having to do with boat anchors. However, with the
addition of ammonia the resulting solution works very
well and, so far, hasn't harmed anything that I have
used it on including aluminum which it does brighten
somewhat.
There was a "cheap" bathroom cleaner that I got at a
discount store quite a while back that worked wonders.
However, I never found that brand again and today
don't even remember which brand it was.
Now don't get the mixture anywhere near tubes or dials
unless you want the wording to go the way of the dodo
bird!
