[Boatanchors] Tower Construction

I too installed a 64 foot Dover self supporting tower.
In order to get you permit, you must pass engineering and location rules.

I had to provide ultimate strength , weld specifications at the base and
wind load calculations with 1/2" of ice on the structure as well as
positioning the tower properly.

When it is all done, you can include the tower as part of you house and
should anything happen , your insurance will be in force.

DON'T errect a tower without a permit unless you want to gamble your
house and your life savings on it not falling.
