Rack mounting these things is probably the only way to keep these
receivers mechanically stable. Other than for their rarity, the command
$$$ for them should have nothing to do with their overall performance. A
poorly running R390A, that's been out in the rain for a year, would run
rings around this receiver.
You asked, "Why go to Dayton, I ask"
We go for the thrill of beating the odds for rain, among other things.
Unfortunately, I had to pass on Butler this year due to a scheduling
conflict. Maybe in September.
