There may be some confusion here. The R-392 is part of the radio set
AN/GRC-19 not the "wireless-set-no19". The R-392 used those low voltage
tubes that utilized 24 volts for both the filament and B Plus. In the later
years some solid state modules were used to directly replace some of tyhe
tubes, one being as I remember the audio output tube. Also part of
AN/GRC-46 a radio teletype set which had the T-195, R-392, MD203, CV278,
TT-98, TT-76 etc.
I am sure there are "public domain" documentation available for the R-392.
I sure miss that Manassas Ham Fest, now that I have relocated from
Woodbridge, VA to the Ozarks of Missouri, it is too much of a trek for me.
while in Lenggries, Germany with the U.S. Army Schools Europe, I was
assigned with 14 AN/GRC-46 and had some experience with the R-392. This was
in the early 60s, so my memory isn't fresh concerning the technical infor
regarding the AN/GRC-19.
