[Boatanchors] 10 Meter AM

Well the E skip season is active on 10 meters as expected. We have been
getting openings
on 6 for several weeks now. I just fired up the little RS HTX10 since I have
none of the
"real" rigs on line right now. A CQ on 29.0 AM got an answer from Lamar
KE4EG down in
Jacksonville, Florida. He was running about 30 watts to 3 elements and I had
all 7 or 8
watts going to a Mosley PRO57B at 66 feet. The QSO was good but short and
the band
faded out on us. It will get better as we get farther into the season. So
keep an eye on
the AM window on 10. It's that time again.
I have a BC348 mated up with the Globe Scout 65 right now so will slip
another receiver
in that spot and get the Scout on 10 AM. I have used it before on 10 with
good success
and can get that station on line the quickest. Cya there.
