Glen,
Like you, I finally reached the conclusion that a real web hosting service is the only way to go.
GeoCities and other "free" services junk up your site's presentation with ads and frames, and are
indeed slow. Just another case of getting what you pay for!
There are a lot of good hosting deals out there; I've used iPower (www.ipowerweb.com) for several
years and am very pleased with them. Domain name registration is included in their one-year
package, and the name is registered to you, not the company.
