I _believe_ platten cleaner is perchloroethylene, not the (more toxic (?))
trichloroethylene.
I have occasionally seen trichlor at Home Depot in the paint section. If you
need a very good degreaser, try rubber cement thinner (Hexane). It usually does
NOT eat plastic. It's VERY flamable though.
