Just wondering ...

1. When one wants to use 10 or 15M perhaps one should
pepper the appropriate lists with requests that guys try
to listen in during scheduled times and that they attempt
some CQ's of their own before and after.

2. No band may be considered dead until one has made a
big CQ noise (see #1) and found no-one who should be
heard is able to be heard.

Too many of us are either not even listening or are
listening to a fixed freq. (or randomly twisting the
knob).

Unless we are continually scanning across the bands we
will likely miss the occasional CQ on the freq. to
which we may be listening.

I have acquired a Uniden BR330T wideband receiver which
covers 100 kHz to 1299.995 MHz. Even though it does not
demodulate SSB/DSB/CW (need to rig an outboard BFO on
the IF) in AM mode it should tell me when there is 10
or 15M activity.

It has been very valuable for monitoring 6M as it does
its primary task of monitoring public service activities.
