This is the very thing that happened to me on a 75A2.  The plate bypass cap 
had changed on the oscillator and the it would not run on frequencies above 
80 meters.  I also found a bad one on the screen of the 1st. RF stage that 
was causing all kinds of problems after the oscillator was fixed.
