Hi all,
It is my turn to seek info.
I have acquired a pair of old transformers
labelled as coming from Beacon Radio Ltd.
1. is shown as CAT : 48 P 03
type : Plate
rating : .46 KVA (??)
primary : 230V
secondary : 900. 1180, 1460 (V ?)
secondary : 350MA (mA ?)
This one has what appears as a secondary center-tap,
two wires connected on a terminal on a hidden board
on the primary (230V) side.
When those two wires are separated, open circuit
is found between pairs on the secondary side.
With the wires connected the DC resistance of pairs
increase as labelled voltage is supposed to increase.
With the wires connected or not I get DC resistances
all over the place, no two even close.
2. is shown as CAT : 28.62
PRI : 230 (V ?)
SEC : 4000 (V ?)
SEC : 2A
This one has a terminal board that has four holes
marked C (common ??). 3000 DC, 3700 DC, 4000 DC.
Wires were tucked behind the terminal board, without
insulation, in spite of the relatively large porcelain
insulators present.
Any wisdom, experience or data(sheets) you would be
able and willing to share ?
Here's hoping these dinghy-anchors won't end up just that.
