Hi Greg,
It's made specifiaccly for the CE 10-A&B and 20-A. They used a freq.
heterodyning that needed some "non-standard" xtal or VFO frequencies, and
sort of took an easy way. But when they did it they were about the first
ones to build an SSB exciter/transmitter. Guess others didn't follow
their lead, and found different ways to do it.
There's probably a lot of 20-A's out there that need it. (or I have
an extra 20-A available if you need one.)

Subject: [Boatanchors] Central Electronics model 458 VFO

Hi:

Picked up an interesting piece recently. It's a Central Electronics VFO
model 458. Factory built from an ARC-5 transmitter.
Can someone tell me what transmitters the vfo is designed for? Also does
anyone have a schematic for this one?
Thanks
Greg
