Joe,

I'll agree for the most part with your first five points but Sears has been
in the appliance busines for at least most of my life. First washer and dryer
I ever bought came from Sears Roebuck. Circa 1970 when I bought my first
house. All of the major appliances in my current home except for the central
heating and AC unit and the hot water heater came from Sears. BTW, whatever
happened to Roebuck?

Oh, and on the original soldering/desoldering subject, I'll add another vote
for Pace over Hakko for light duty work. Which is 95% of what we do.
