[Boatanchors] Warped tuning capacitor disc/pinch drive fix

Here's a good question for the receiver re-builder.
Some radios use a plastic disc attached to the tuning cap to display the frequency as the capacitor is turned. The disc is friction driven on the edge by a small two disc pinch roller attached to the tuning knob. i.e. HQ 170/180 NC 183 NC 190 VF-1 vfo etc.
If the big disc on the tuning cap is warped like an old 45 rpm record, the tuning action of the radio will lock up or not work at all.
Is there a technique for un-warping the big plastic disc that's rivited to the main tuning capacitor of a NC 190. The receiver is too good to put out to pasture but I'm literally stuck on this mechanical problem.
Thanks and Merry Christmas
