Although they are not HC6/U you can easily adapt the
HC49/U crystals that are available from Mouser. These
have wire leads that can be bent to fit the crystal
socket. I use these "clock" crystals all the time in
various tube type converters including those that were
made by Ameco. The cost of these crystals is 66 cents
each and they are of high quality. The reason that
the crystals are so cheap is that thousands are made
at a time.
The 24.000 MHz 20 pf load crystal that I use is Mouser
part number 559-FOXS240F-20 and the cost is 66 cents
each in single quantities. The price drops to 57
cents each in quantities of 10.
There are several of these "clock" crystals that are
useful for various converters and the price is
definitely "right"!
