It's a nice testimonial to vintage amateur radio which AM is just one
part. Vintage SSB equipment, military equipment, and building up of tube
type receivers and transmitters also play an important part in "vintage
amateur radio". One only has to listen to the Hallicrafters, vintage
sideband, Heathkit, Swan, and Drake nets to grasp how much of this
vintage equipment is repaired, refurbished, and brought back to life on a
daily basis on AM, SSB, and CW.
