As an object lesson in list etiquette, this discussion may be useful for 
some.

He said he "believed" that it would be "of interest to everyone on these 
lists" (sending it simultaneously to several, which is called "cross 
posting" and is generally frowned-upon).

The topic presented is not germane to any of the list subjects, 
therefore whether one 'believes' or not, all one has to do is read the 
list title, "boatanchors", "amradio", "T368".  I don't see "pearl 
harbor" mentioned there at all.

So one can 'believe' anything, but this does not mean that it's the 
correct plan.
