Remove it and install a 3 conductor plug. They are available in the
same shell size.

Subject: [Boatanchors] SP-600 3 Wire Power Connection
I've been pondering connection of a 3 wire grounded line cord to the SP-600
while retaining the SP-600's original 2 pin chassis mounted AC power
connector.
As far as I can see, there are very few options.
1. Run the green (ground) wire out through the back of the original plug's
strain relief and connect to chassis. Ugly.
2. Connect green wire to original plug's metal shell using one of the
screws holding the shell together. Use a short lead with lugs to jump the
other shell screw to chassis. About as ugly as 1. above.
3. Connect green wire to original plug's metal shell using one of the
screws holding the shell together. Metal ring on plug completes connection
to chassis via threads on chassis mounted connector. Not as ugly, but
unacceptable because the ring was never intended to establish connection.
4. Modify original connectors by drilling and adding a third contact. Too
much work, partially defeats purpose of staying original with original
connector.
Has anyone come up with a better idea to use the SP-600's original power
connector with a 3 wire power cord? (Or do I resign myself to removal of
the connector and installation of something better?)
Drew
