Bob,

SO-264 is the medium sized twin-ax chassis connector, not the small.  The 
small one is similar to BNC.  

I've never been an SP-600 fan so I don't know whether any were equipped with 
SO-264's or not.  But the Signal Corps balanced coaxial feedline antennas 
(doublets) used the large Twinax connector and cable family.  As did the receivers 
set up to use those antennas (i.e., R-390/URR, cousins and descendants).  
UG-422/U is the chassis male connector.

SO-264, mating cable and adaptor connectors and medium twinax cable were 
commonly used on aircraft navigation receivers for loop and dipole antennas.  

The large twinax was also used in the IBM Token Ring LAN system.
