The JX-26 is a later version of the "Direction Finder" model. It is the same
as a later-model R-274C. It appears that all the later SP-600 serial numbers
are either the DF design or the JX-17 "Diversity" model. There are a number
of manuals that describe this receiver. Supplement A of the Hammarlund
manual Issue-4 (October 1952) specifically covers models JX21 through JX26.
It is also described (though not by that name) in TM 11-851. The schematics
are in Figure 102 of TM 11-851. It is called "R-274C, serial number 1570 and
above". The serial number they refer to is the Signal Corps numbers - not
the original Hammarlund serial number.
All these manuals may be downloaded for free (requiring only great patience)
from my SP-600 page:

Enjoy!
