[Boatanchors] Shack testing power valves...

..or tubes as we USA'ers say.

I got some 200 + watt power tubes sitting in my cabinet...like a 
WE242C...850...

I'd like to know how good they are, if I can without precision testing 
equipment.

I'd guess that I could power them with filament and B+...at zero 
bias?...through a power resisting on the plate...and see something...and maybe even put a 
little negative on the grido...

What I'd really like to do is measure the transconductance!

Whatya guys think?

PS...my be offered a Collins 75A1...filaments light...unknown condx...no 
speaker...looks to me like a CCA "good"...from what I've read on their web 
site....what price range might it be in?
