[Boatanchors] Help with relay ID

Thanks for the reply and info. Your efforts are appreciated, OM.

Looking at the relay, it is a 2PDT, single coil (The schematic on the relay 
only shows one coil) and octal base. The coil measures 596 ohms. It is 
2-5/8" tall and 1-1/8" dia.
Testing on the bench shows that it pulls 21.18 mA @ 12 vac. (12 vac divided 
by 596 ohms = 21.18).
So, my question now is what voltage should the coil be operated on?
How would I know if it should be AC or DC? (It appears to pull in ok on 12 
vac).
