The last surplus property I saw coming out of Army MARS about 10-15
years ago were some old PCs with something like the 8808 for a
processor. Absolute doorstops, even then. They also changed
accountability from 3-5 years to lifetime around the same time. I did
see some FRC-93 Collins gear surplussing out through the AF MARS
program around the same time, but much of it was left sitting because
it was out west (Utah or Nevada I think)and no one wanted to go get
it.

It would certainly be interesting to see what kind of gear has come
available through the MARS programs over the last decade. Sadly, the
days of R-390s and T-368s galore are long gone. Even when they closed
down Plattsburgh AFB in the 90s, they seemed to favor auctioning for
scrap over surplussing. At the time, a ton of mixed metal was worth
about $49. Large commercial dumpsters full of scopes, analyzers, and
anything else with gold pin connectors chopped out and the rest
heaved.
